
Akshi Tarpan is a traditional Ayurvedic eye care treatment that involves the application of a warm herbal medicated ghee or oil to the eyes.
Akshi Tarpana or Netra Tarpana, is an Ayurvedic treatment for the eyes. It involves filling the eyes with a warm ghee (clarified butter) or oil mixture, typically made with herbal extracts, and then gently massaging the area around the eyes.

Procedure
The Akshi Tarpan procedure involves several steps:
- Preparation: The patient is asked to lie down in supine position; a well of Dough is prepared around periorbitally.
- Application of herbal ghee or oil: A warm herbal ghee or oil is poured in to prepared well around the eyes and patient is asked to close and open the eyes slowly and repeatedly.
- Retention: The ghee or oil is retained in the eyes for a specified period, usually 10-30 minutes.
- Post-procedure: The patient is given rest, light diet to aid in recovery.
